MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM AMSI

 

 

2015 is going to be another exciting year!  

 

Fields Medalist Manjul Bhargava tours the country in September, in June mathematicians and physicists meet in Queensland for the Winter School, workshop and travel funding for AMSI members throughout the year and BioInfoSummer heads to NSW in December.

 

SUMMER OF RESEARCH FOR 56 AMSI STUDENTS

 

Congratulations to the 2014/15 recipients of the AMSI Vacation Research Scholarships! Students will complete six-week research projects over the summer before presenting their findings at the Big Day In conference.

MATHS & STATS UNLOCK THE SECRETS OF VIRUSES

 

Last week 200 researchers gathered in Melbourne for another sucessful BioInfoSummer. Speakers Barbara Holland, Jonathan Keith and Terry Speed shared their expertise with ABC News.

CONGRATULATIONS TO HELEN MACGILLIVRAY

 

Helen MacGillivray from Queensland University of Technology is the second Australian and the second woman to lead International Statistical Institute (ISI) in its 128 years of history. 

 

She takes up her role as president-elect for 2015-2017, and President for 2017-2019.
