I believe we must keep abreast of the current communication formats. However different people favour different vehicles to communicate. For example I use email, facebook, twitter, SMS, linked in and Academia in that order. After that my time and inclination to use an additional platform would definitely fizzle out (which is why I haven't used Google+ for instance). Perhaps there could be a central platform/hub on the ASC website that links different vehicles together so we can monitor members posts according to our inclination.
