ECR Network: Communicating science to the public – the why, how and where
Science Exchange, Exchange Place, Adelaide
Tuesday 19 March
5:30pm-7:30pm
Communicating science to the public is increasingly seen as an important skill and experience for scientists, however many feel trepidation when faced with it. How do you take your research or field of knowledge and make it understandable
for the general public or an audience who might not have background knowledge of your field? Similar problems can be faced when talking to scientists from other disciplines. Paul Willis, former palaeontologist and broadcaster on ABC’s
Catalyst program, now Director of RiAus, will take you through how to talk to the public about science in an engaging and entertaining way.
You’ll also hear from two ECR’s about their work and career, and have the opportunity to network with other ECR’s from around Adelaide.
