Will you be colliding in Melbourne in July? Colliding Ideas – Art, society and physics symposium on 8 July explores the intersection of streams of thought. It was inspired by the International Conference on High Energy Physics (ICHEP2012), from 4-11 July, which explores the intersection of beams of matter.

Colliding Ideas – Art, society and physics symposium

‘Colliding Ideas’ will explore the worlds of physics and ask what is going on inside, how it relates to our social world, and how it affects us physically and culturally. How do the perspectives of physicists differ and relate to those of artists and visual communicators who use physics-based technologies?

Speakers from diverse fields will smash ideas at each other and the audience. Jesse Shore will chair the session (while wearing a hard hat).

Sunday 8th July

12:00 to 5:00 pm, registration starts at 11.30am
Level 5, 342 Swanston Street
Storey Hall, RMIT University
Light lunch and refreshments will be provided

The symposium is organised by RMIT University with support from the Australian Network for Art and Technology (ANAT).

Cheers,
Jesse
