For ASC-list readers in WA, here’s something that looks interesting. It’s a public forum "Nanotechnology and the Environment - Have Your Say" on Wed 8th February at the Perth Convention Centre. It is a part of the APMC Conference.


I’m posting it for the NETS section of DIISRTE (get used to the new department acronym). The NETS section is supporting our upcoming conference.


How do we ensure that nanotechnology contributes

positively to environmental challenges, without

creating new environmental problems?


This interactive forum will look at what nanotechnology

is, how it may contribute to environmental performance

and protection, and how it may cause environmental



The forum will consider how responsible innovation and

regulation can ensure that nanotechnology is positive

for the environment, and how community engagement

can assist to keep citizens informed and to get their

input on future directions for this important technology.


Forum will consist of panel perspectives and audience



Panel will include professionals from areas such as

Community Engagement, Nanotechnology Research,

Regulation and Environment.
