The Australasian Medical Writers Association annual
conference is being held in
Some of Australia’s leading vaccine researchers
are speaking on the Friday (Mark von Itzstein, Michael Good and Roy Hall) and
on Saturday the issue of alcohol’s effects on the brain is tackled (with
addition medicine specialists Jon Currie and Mark Daglish, epidemiologist Rosa
Alati and leading criminologist Ross Homel).
Among other sessions we look at how medical writers
(and their audiences) are embracing new media, we have tips on getting
published and on online self-promotion, and for something completely different
we take a trip back in time and watch Brisbane veterinarian Michelle Barton
re-enact, in medieval costume, the surgical removal of an arrow from a wounded
soldier!
The full program is at www.medicalwriters.org
Please note that earlybird registration closes on 15
September.
